Konark Vaishnava Temple

VAISHNAVA TEMPLE

BRICK TEMPLE

The Konark Sun Temple complex contains ruins of several other temples and constructions, one of them is the Vaishnava Temple. This temple was excavated very recently in 1956 at the time of the sand clearance. It is a small brick temple, near Chhayadevi temple, facing towards east and is in the southwest corner of the Konark temple’s compound. From the board placed at the entrance of this temple, it is noticed that the construction is dated back to 11th century A.D.
