The Sun Temple complex encompasses remains of numerous other temples and constructions, one of them is the kitchen of the temple. The kitchen is located to the south of the Nata Mandapa and is a laterite platform with a few rows of pillars remaining. It was discovered during the excavations carried out in the 1950s. The kitchen includes means to bring water, containers to store water, drains, demarcated areas for grinding grains and spices and few Chulahs (triple ovens for cooking). There is a well located north of the kitchen, was probably built to supply water to the kitchen.
